Nevada Voting Irregulaties: Reid Automatically Selected in Electronic Ballots

Who didn't see this coming?  According to sources on the ground in Nevada, ballots in one of the state's largest cities, Boulder City, are automatically filled in and could easily be, and have been, cast for Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.  His opponent, Republican-nominated Sharron Angle, therefore loses votes.

According to numerous voters in Boulder City, "their ballot had been cast before they went to the polls, raising questions about Clark County's electronic voting machines."  This is particularly peculiar in the face of promises from Reid that he will win and that the Angle campaign is "crumbling."

Voter Joyce Ferrara said that when she went to vote for Republican Sharron Angle, "her Democratic opponent, Sen. Harry Reid's name was already checked."  She continued, "Something's not right. One person that's a fluke. Two, that's strange. But several within a five minute period of time -- that's wrong."

With early voting prevalent in Nevada, this could cost Ms. Angle thousands of votes.  In an election that is sure to be very tight, every vote is all the more important.

This news also comes hot on the heels of voting irregularities in North Carolina, in which voters have reportedly voted "all Republican" in races.  However, the machines automatically change it to Democrat, process it, and disallow voting again.

“Something is not right here,” voter Chuck Tyson stated about voting in North Carolina. He continued, saying that he “got two or three calls” from people who had the same concerns, and problems, with ballot machines.

This year's elections will be watched closely, and surely these irregularities will be scrutinized.  It is also especially peculiar, and some may argue intentional, that the vast majority of reported voting irregularities favor Democrats.

  1. I read this story in several other websites. Being a conserative I will have to point out thta you omitted in this story what other websites are reporting in that the election monitors where called over to the machines and the problem was corrected.

  2. There are times when I question the need to mix technology and elections. The "lever machines" worked just fine, and I definitely would trust my ballot to be counted accurately with that method, instead of the "touch scan" machines we are now using.

  3. Thank God, that Wyoming still uses a paper ballot.

  4. You didn't mention the fact that it seems the default vote (which shouldn't exist at all, but that's another discussion) is based on the language chosen by the voter. English gets Reid, Spanish gets Angle. Both options are insane, but to ignore that shows either an irresponsible inattention to detail or a blatant bias.

  5. That is the only way Reid can win, to cheat the fine people of Nevada.
