Michael Steele, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee, should take a few vacation days before deciding on whether or not to run for a second term as head of the Grand Old Party in the upcoming RNC election - I am quite confident that if he weighs his options he'll retire for the good of the party, and party members.
However, if he does decide to seek a second term - he will be running against two very impressive individuals, who have previous experience in running a statewide Republican organization, and nearly half of the GOP rank-and-file, according to Public Policy Polling's latest survey on the issue.
In case you have forgotten, Michael Steele was elected RNC Chairman two months after Barack Obama defeated John McCain in the 2008 election, and has since become a gaffe prone, scandal ridden individual who just can't keep his mouth shut. He has constantly sided against Republicans on crucial issue after crucial issue, especially when he called Afghanistan "Obama's War", as if George W. Bush didn't invade after the 9/11 terrorist attacks that killed 3,000 American civilians.
We need a leader for the 2012 Presidential campaign, not a man leading the NY Times best sellers list.
What say you?
