The House Condemns North Korea; One Republican Doesn't

The United States House of Representatives voted near-unanimously to condemn North Korea on Thursday afternoon for last week's attack on a South Korean held island.  Yet two Congressmen prevented it from passing without opposition; they did not condemn North Korea's hostile actions that led to four deaths.

On the House of Representatives floor, two Congressmen stood against South Korea, one of America's greatest friends, and with North Korea, one of our greatest foes. Besides the fact they have absolutely no shame, who are these elected Representatives, and what can we do to defeat them in 23 months?

The good news: Representative Steve Kagen (D-Wisconsin's 8th district), the only Democrat to side against South Korea, was defeated by Republican Reid Ribble in last month's historic sweep by the National and Wisconsin GOP. Reid Ribble is a pro-National Defense conservative, who in his younger years almost became a Baptist Minister.

The bad news: Representative Ron Paul (R-Texas's 14th district), the lone Republican to side in Congress against South Korea, was reelected to his twelfth term on election day. Paul defeated 3 Republican opponents in the GOP Primary with over 80% of the vote earlier in the year, and his eventual Democrat opponent also lost heavily to him.
Ron Paul
My fellow Republicans, enough is enough. Ron Paul must go in the next election, whether it be in the Primary, or the General election. We cannot stand for Representatives who stand with North Korea's aggression against one of our allies, because he believes we shouldn't have allies. This has to be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Representative Ron Paul must be kicked out of Congress. As Republicans, as Conservatives, and most importantly, as Americans we cannot tolerate individuals within our Congress who support North Korea through public support of their goals, or through quiet opposition to condemnations by our United States Congress for one reason or another. This Isolationist Libertarian theology must be eradicated from our Party.

Any thoughts?

  1. Ron Paul doesn't have a high opinion of his own country, denouncing American "imperialism" and openly supporting Julian Assange and Wikileaks dumping of thousands of private government cables onto the internet. I have long believed that the man is a crackpot and I would like to see him booted out of Congress.
