As Christians emerged from Alexandria, Egypt's Mass of the Saints Church, a car bomb ripped through the crowd killing at least seven and injuring at least 24. Father Mena Adel, a witness to the carnage, explained: "I was inside the church and heard a huge explosion. People's bodies were in flames."
Remember, Islam is a religion of peace according to liberals.
In the aftermath, according to news sources,
"Some Christians from the church clashed with police in anger over the blast. The Christians hurled stones at police and a nearby mosque, chanting, "With our blood and soul, we redeem the cross," the witnesses said."On a day meant to bring people together in celebration of a new year and friendship, terrorist scum always tries to rear its ugly head. And who do they attack? Peaceful people worshiping God.

In November, hundreds of Christians rioted in the capital, Cairom, smashing cars and windows after police violently stopped the construction of a church. The rare outbreak of Christian unrest in the capital left one person dead.
Christians are believed to make up about 10 percent of Egypt's mainly Muslim population of nearly 80 million people, and they have grown increasingly vocal in complaints about discrimination. There have been occasional attacks targeting Christians - most notably, in January 2009, seven Christians were killed in a drive-by shooting on a church in southern Egypt during celebrations for the Orthodox Coptic Christmas. The Saints Church in Alexandria targetting early Saturday also came under attack in April 2006, when a man with a knife stabbed worshippers."Religion of peace.
Update: The death toll has risen to at least 21. New reports also indicate that it may not have been a car bomb and in fact could have been a suicide bomber on foot.

Islam is not a religion of peace. It's the religion of some very bigoted people. What kind of religion can it be if its followers claim to be god-fearing and yet the majority understand nothing of this actually means? To kill innocent people in this manner, regardless of their beliefs, is murder. It's as simple as that.

Please tell me where in Islam does it mention that killing innocents is asked for? Killing non-Muslims is asked for?? I know of a verse from the Quran that states:
"Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, and do not transgress; for Allah loveth not transgressors." (Surah 2, Verse 190)...please pay attention to Fight those who fight you!!! not the other way round! not innocents!!! only those who fight you!
‘He who killed one person, unless it be a person guilty of man-slaughter (murder) or of spreading chaos (mischief) in the land, should be looked upon as though he has slain all mankind, and he who saved one life should be regarded as though he has saved the lives of all mankind.’” (Chapter 5 verse 32
"Nor can Goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate!" (Surah 41, Verse 34)
" ... and let not the hatred of some people in (once) shutting you out of the Sacred Mosque lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment." (Surah 5, Verse 2).
and what about: "O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do." (Surah 4, Verse 135)
How about this Hadeeth said by Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him: “Beware! Whoever is cruel and hard on a non-Muslim minority, or curtails their rights, or burdens them with more than they can bear, or takes anything from them against their free will; I (Prophet Muhammad) will complain against the person on the Day of Judgment.” (Recorded by Abu Dawud)
What those people are doing is NOT Islam; Islam would NEVER encourage random killing, innocent killing, or killing because someone is from a different religion.
What I want to say to those people who bombed, it's people like you that make the world hate Islam and fear Islam. You have twisted, you have it twisted! May Allah guide you wrong doers and help you see the error in your ways. Do you think that you will not be held accountable for this bombing simply because they are non-muslims? You shall see the error of your ways in Judgement day.
As for the non-muslims here, I ask of you only to read the Quran and Judge for yourselves, you'll see that there not one chapter in the 114 chapter, nor one verse that states what they're doing is permissible.

i encourage my Christian brothers in egypt and elsewhere to be strong in the face of this unspeakable attack. it is time to fight back and assert ourselves! al-qaeda and their ilk want to drive us out of the whole middle east because our peace-based religion will simply be too strong for their violence-oriented creed in the long run. islam is NOT a religion of peace!!!
