Good news on the Afghan-War front.

According to the
Associated Press:
1,400 additional Marines are heading to Afghanistan over the next few weeks. The reinforcements are heading to areas in the vital
Southern Provinces where United States and Coalition forces made significant gains over the previous summer. It would be foolhardy of me not to mention that our gains are still fragile, and must be secured at all possible costs in both blood and treasure.
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who will soon be leaving the Pentagon, approved of the mini-troop surge on Wednesday. This increase in US Marine presence will probably coincide with the well received
rise of the fierce M1A1 Abrams Tank
in Afghanistan's volatile
Helmand Province. Both are signs that despite President Obama's July deadline, this important War is far from over.
Any thoughts?
