19 Democrats Revolt Against Pelosi

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (it's good to finally be able to write that) may have been chosen again as the Democratic Party's leader in the House, but it is not unanimous. John Boehner was elected Speaker with all but one of his Republican colleagues voting for him while Pelosi had a minor revolt within her own party against her.

The opposition was more theatrical than practical, but as Politico pointed out, it is far bigger than most protest votes:
In addition to Shuler’s 11 votes, two Democrats — Reps. Gabrielle Giffords (Ariz.) and John Barrow (Ga.) — voted for Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.); Reps. Dennis Cardoza and Jim Costa voted for each other; Rep. Ron Kind (Wis.) voted for Rep. Jim Cooper (Tenn.); Rep. Dan Lipinski (Ill.) voted for Marcy Kaptur (Ohio) and Kurt Schrader (Ore.) voted for Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland.
The first anti-Pelosi vote during the alphabetical roll call came from Rep. Jason Altmire (D-Pa.). He rose to answer the call of his name and declared loudly and clearly “Heath Shuler!”
Shuler, who voted for himself, told POLITICO that Democrats will have to follow a more moderate path “if we’re going to go back out and win a majority.”
So while Pelosi may sit in self-satisfaction over her time in the Speaker's chair, it appears that over 10% of Democrats in her own caucus are queasy about making her their representative and mascot for the next two years.
