Gibbs to Be Leaving White House to 'Work on Obama's Campaign'

 Now naturally, this could mean any sorts of things. Number one it could mean simply that Robert Gibbs was fired from his post as White House Press Secretary due to the fact that he was incompetent and condescending. All right, I'll concede that the President was unlikely to fire him for that, but it is a possibility.

Number two is also simple, that the official explanation is true and that Gibbs is helping the President's reelection campaign. This would also mean that the 2012 race has officially begun-- at least for the White House. From surprisingly restrained comments by former House Speaker Pelosi today to Obama's new adherence to trickle-down economics, we are seeing the shift that shows election season has come again.

In a written statement, Obama hailed Gibbs as "a close friend, one of my closest advisers and an effective advocate from the podium." But he said it was "natural" for his longtime aide "to want to step back, reflect and retool."

Notice the usage of the word tool?
