Finally we are starting to hear from the victims of Dr. Kermit Gosnell's house of horrors and it is truly unbelievable. LaToya Ransome was a "patient" of Dr. Gosnell's who suffered endocarditis as a result of the doctors lack of sterile field. Endocarditis is an infection that occurs on one of the heart valves, usually aortic but in some cases the tricuspid, succumbs to a blood born infection resulting in "vegetations" that form on the heart valve leaflets. These vegetations are not stable and tend to break off and embolize. If this is aortic valve endocarditis this most common result is aortic insufficiency occurring as a result of loss of tissue integrity secondary to infection. The treatment for this is "open heart surgery", but more specifically "aortic valve replacement. " This is not a simple surgery, particularly in the context of infectious endocarditis, and carries a significant morbidity.
One victim, of many, finally speaks out:
Unfortunately, CNN's Martin Savidge minimizes the degree of disgusting by describing Dr. Gosnell's crimes as "destroying viable fetuses" when in reality the crimes include allowing a women to die under your care and severing the spinal cords of children, at the base of the neck, with scissors.
LaToya Ransome isn't the only one to begin speaking out. Davida Johnson "claims she was forced by the doctor to continue" an abortion after she asked him to stop the procedure.
"I said, 'I don't want to do this,' and he smacked me. They tied my hands and arms down and gave me more medication,"
This so called doctor brutalized women in a primarily african american community in Philadelphia. Taking their money and treating them as if they were dogs. Margaret Sanger would be proud that her vision was working so efficiently.
This brings me to another point outlined in Rob Taylor's post about the top five potential allies conservatives ignore-at their own peril.
Number 2: African Americans.
That 2010 was the year of the Black conservative cannot be denied. More Black conservatives were publicly active than any other time I can personally remember. Yet, the conservative movement is not only seemingly blase about this development, but we still tolerate voices withing the movement – like neo-Confederates and “Southern Nationalists” – who go out of their way to make Black conservatives feel unwelcome. This is foolish, decades of destruction under leftism has begun opening the Black community’s eyes to the shortcomings of the American left. Issues like school choice, 2nd Amendment rights and illegal immigration have aligned African American voters with the Republican party and the conservative movement. Meanwhile groups like Project 21 have began working to change the views of BlackAmericans about the right.
