It would seem that the Sarah Palin may be subject to Australian law without ever having been born there or stepped foot there. Who knew?
Anyone who incites others to commit violence against his client, even outside Australia, Stary says, is violating Australian law and can be held accountable for it."Certainly if Sarah Palin or any of those other politicians come to Australia, for whatever purpose, then we can initiate a private prosecution, and that's what we intend to do."
I always knew Sarah Palin was a wanted woman, but this is a little over the top....
It would seem that Sarah Palin thinks Julian Assange should be subject to American law without ever having been born there or stepped foot there. Who knew?
ReplyDeleteEspionage is considered an act of war. Assange may not be affliated with a state (country) or even an ngo. But he could well fall into the illegal combatant category. If the Australian government wants to give him cover that's fine, but the long term consequences could end up biting them if there is a change in the US administration down the line. The NYTimes has so far been able to play the First Amendment to keep themselves from prosecution, however nothing is forever and people do grow weary.
ReplyDeleteMr Julian Assange is an Australian National and holds a valid and current Australian Passport. A member of four year standing, in Australian journalist union and publisher of Sunshine Press.
ReplyDeleteThe Prime Minister Ms J Gillard and the Attorney-General Mr McClelland have publicly condemned Wikileaks and Mr Julian Assange for "illegal actions" but have failed to find any applicable Australian laws to indict.
As an Australian acting in another country, Mr Julian Assange is not an American Citizen and he is not in America. Revealing the truth about the actions of another country is not espionage. No charges have been laid against him in any country. Except, perhaps, in the U.S.A. by secret grand jury indictment.
Assange is a creep that put our warriors and those that help them in more risk of losing their lives. He could have at least edited out some of the stuff. If he comes to the United States, we may not be able to charge him with anything, but he does not want to come to my neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteHAHA! Continents are like women; Afica,
ReplyDeleteyoung wild, unexplored. America, working, working. Europe, middle-aged, nothing new to see here. Australia; Everyone knows what's down there, but nobody cares.
