HuffPo: Gee, Those Madison Protesters Were Really Civil

The Huffington Post has made a lot of headlines lately. They've also been bought out for over $300 million in a massive deal including AOL. But the liberal supersite appears to be stretching the truth, just a little bit in their "reporting" of the protests in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Huffington Post actually did not report on the disturbances rocking the capital of that state. Instead, it copy/pasted an entire Reuters article that at first glance appeared to justify the complaints of the thousands of supporters of the public unions.

The message, of course, was that the protesters were actually very civil. They were all taking on the call of President Obama to have a more reasonable discourse! I should have guess that this was the case, especially considering their non-personal attacks on Governor Scott Walker or members of the Republican delegation to the legislature.

Just for fun, let's see what the Huffington post has to say really happened over the last couple of days in Wisconsin. Even the headline was a farce:

Madison Puts the Civility Back into Discourse

Huh? Am I missing something? All of those Scott-Walker-is-Hitler signs were not enough? All right, what about what the rest of the article says:
Instead, the day was marked by a surprising civility when the shouting stopped and the one-on-one conversations began.
Okay.... what about proof?
Zog Begolli, a 23-year-old bill opponent, met four bill supporters at the Old Fashioned when they helped him get a drink at the crowded bar. "They allowed me to get closer so I could order a beer," Begolli said.
"Beer is something we can all agree on," said Randy Otto, 59, from Lake Mills, one of the bill supporters who let Begolli squeeze in.
"I was outnumbered," Begolli said. "But the conversation was civil."
So basically the reporters found four people that decided to have a beer together.... and that proved that the sum of the over 50,000 protesters were civil? By ignoring the signs of the protest and the hateful rhetoric-- it's all okay because four people agree that they like Guiness?????

But just in case you forgot what "civility" looks like, let me refresh your memory:

Do you need any more civility?
