The Koch Brothers

The first time I had ever even heard of the Koch Brothers is when I received a tip about a mass-forwarded email sent out by Daily Kos.  In it, it claimed the Tea Party did not consist of regular citizens, but well-paid political mercenaries.  Who did the paying?  According to the Daily Kos, the Koch Brothers:

Obviously, as many liberal claims tend to be, this email was simply nonsense.  In 2009, though I hadn't been writing for this site at the time, I considered myself to be a Tea Partier.  Like most Americans, I was fed up with over-spending, spend and spend politicians driving this country downhill.

I didn't know who the Koch Brothers were, nor do I really know a lot about them now.

But yesterday I heard the name again.  Apparently a phony called up Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin.

If you'll allow me some digression, I will share my thoughts on the Koch Brothers:  If they are big political contributors to conservative politicians, that's just fine.  However, they did not start the Tea Party, as liberals claim.  You and I started the Tea Party.  The average American pushed back against out-of-control spending.

Successful capitalists: The bane of liberals' existance

Liberals clearly need a bogeyman.  The "Blame Bush" charade is getting old, even for the most ardent liberals with their heads up their donkeys.  Dick Cheney is out of politics, and Sarah Palin simply cannot receive all of their vitriol.  Who better for liberals to attack rich, successful brothers?  They even (gasp) have political beliefs that don't jive with Democrats!  Is it any wonder why liberals hate them?

Oh, and one last note.  I've never been paid by the Koch Brothers (but I wouldn't mind it either. Hint, hint).
