Vote in Our Poll: Should Newt Gingrich Run for President in 2012?

The rumblings around the political community seem to be that Newt Gingrich is thinking about running for President. Apparently the scuttlebutt is that he is likely to announce an exploratory committee within the next several weeks. He's certainly well-known enough to get attention-- so do you think he should run for President?

  1. No! And not because of the RINO label. I believe he's conservative, but his own political self-interest over-rides his stated values and principles on too many occassions.

    Additionally, he's just damaged goods.

  3. No. He's got too much real baggage for the MSM to hit him with. Not to mention his ...photo-op with Nancy Pelosi and climate change(?)

  4. No! He is not necessarily a RINO. His indiscretions and quitting resulted in a RINO (Hastert) controlling the House. This led to the huge Republican loses and the rise of Pelosi and Obama. Thanks, but no thanks, Newt.

  5. Dear Newt,

You have disqualified yourself in my eyes as a worthy presidential contender when you pandered to the ethanol interests. There’s nothing good about burning ethanol or ethanol subsidies.

First, burning food crops drives up food costs, especially in the third world where food-price increases are provoking the overthrow of governments by starving people. Second accelerated crop production wrecks the land and consumes precious water resources. Third, there is no net energy output from ethanol production, and when you count the CO2 given off by fermentation, ethanol has double the CO2 output of just directly burning the fossil-fuel production inputs to start with.

Why, even that greedy charlatan Al Gore has finally admitted ethanol subsidies are a bad idea.

Simply put, it’s just one more “green” scam and “green” vote-buying scheme subsidized by deficit spending that further debases our currency. No real conservative will ever endorse ethanol subsidies. If ethanol is an economic energy source, then it would stand on it own; if not, then it’s nothing more than an additional drain on our resources.

Surely you are smart enough and well educated enough to already know and understand the above. That therefore means your pandering is deliberate and mendacious. It means you are not a principled conservative. It means you are not fit to run under the banner of a principled conservative. It means you have no courage because you're willing to pander to get elected, rather than tell the truth and risk not being elected. It means you are not fit to be President.

  6. I'll never forgive Gingrich for his coming down to TX in order to campaign AGAINST the honorable Rep. Ron Paul....not to mention his membership in the globalist Council on Foreign Relations. Did I hear correctly that he either cheated on or divorced his wife while she was in a hospital bed? I bet the Dems are gonna make hay out of that, & if they did, I don't blame them. Gingrich is also a Drug Warrior on steroids & is NOT a defender of liberty or the Constitution. IF the GOP had any principles, they would kick him out of the party & tell him & his other big-government RINO friends to join the No Labels Party.

  7. Just don't trust him. He's a liar and a cheat always looking out for his own interests above those under his stewardship. We need a candidate who is selfless and respects the authority and interests of America.

  8. Mr. Gingrich,

Please do not run for President of the United States because your two affairs indicates that you have questionable integrity.

My request has nothing to do with religion but a sense of what is right and wrong. I also have questionable integrity, but I will never run for President.

I am a life-long moderate republican. I remember the idea of you as President being thrown around in 2007 or so. I thought that was an awesome idea, and I may have even registered at Newt.org. At the time I knew you recently admitted to your last affair. I was ok with that because I didn't know about the first one.

However the presidency of Obama has caused me to say, as often as I can, that people need to research the candidates and not vote strictly on party lines.

I took my own advice and researched you. On one hand I was shocked, but on the other hand I understood because I also like the ladies.

While it may be that every candidate has had multiple affairs, we don't always know for certain. In your case we know for certain.

The image of the President has been diminished over the years, but this country still deserves better than Clinton, Obama, and you.

It's been said that you're a genius. Well I'm just a blue collar worker who earned a 3.0 in business administration at a state university. I'm smart enough to know that I'm not fit to lead a city, state, or country. Are you genius enough to know that you're not fit?

    Thank you,
    John
