This may seem like a contradiction (and it is), but let's try to follow the logic of the Daily Caller. There is a liberal bias in the media, they readily admit that. The Daily Caller cites the incredibly good press that then Senator Obama got when he was running for President, as opposed to his Republican challengers.
But if there is a clear bias against conservatives and Republicans, how then could it be conservatives' fault? Well, because they decided to report the news honestly. As the DC writes,
When conservatives bring their politics and grievances into the newsrooms of various media, they reinforce the perception of many on the left: those on the right are short sighted, easily angered, and apt to confuse the difference between glib punditry and hard-nosed journalism. So, even though the Daily Caller readily admits that there is a liberal bias in the news, if conservatives report anything, then it is "short sighted?" I, as well as most people who pay attention to the news, would say that it is the liberal media that is "short sighted, easily angered, and" confused. You need look no further than any reporting about Sarah Palin.
And what does the Daily Caller have to say about Fox News? Obviously Fox couldn't be at fault for a liberal media, right? Wrong again. According to the DC, politicians who speak through Fox News are "foolish."
So, let me get this straight. The liberal slant of an individual is the fault of conservatives? Conservative reporting leads to liberalism? Politicians speaking to Fox News are "foolish?" Do I even need to say that the Daily Caller is full of it? I think not.
The Daily Caller: part of the problem.
