The Foreign Minister of Libya-- and lackey of Qaddafi, has announced an immediate cease-fire in the country. This follow's last night's decision by the UN Security Council to implement a no-fly zone over the country.
Speaking to reporters in Tripoli, he says Libya will "try to deal positively" to the resolution, which calls for a no-fly zone and "all necessary measures" to protect civilians in the conflict. And the propaganda is already starting:
"Libya takes great interest in protecting civilians," he says.
He says the U.N.-imposed no-fly zone will affect civilian flights as well as military and will thus "increase the suffering of Libyan people and will have negative impact on the general life of the Libyan people."
It's a start-- but it could preserve Qaddafi in power.
