Syrian Forces Begin Indiscriminate Firing in Deraa

The Syrian security forces have killed at least 300 civilians since the protests began in that country about a month ago. The worst of the violence appears to have occurred over the last five days. Now there is word coming from that country that the Syrian military is beginning an even worse wave of atrocities.

According to sources in the protest movement, there has been firing in the protesting city of Deraa and the capital of Damascus.

One activist was quoted as saying that security forces were "firing in all directions", and at least five people were reportedly killed.
Witnesses also said security forces had opened fire in a suburb of Damascus.
A prominent human rights campaigner said President Bashar al-Assad had launched a "savage war" on protesters.
This is beginning to be a crime against humanity. Where is the White House?
