Assassination Attempt on Turkish PM Erdogan

 This is something that was not expected. Apparently there has been an assassination attempt on Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan. Erdogan was on his way to a political rally when a bomb exploded, killing a police officer.

While the attackers appear to be Kurdish militants, the quote released appears to point the finger in that direction:

"These dark minds who do not believe in democracy's struggle, these terrorists, these separatist forces believe they can only achieve results this way instead of through the ballot box," the prime minister said.

Interesting. Erdogan did lead an attack on PKK terrorists in Iraq several years ago.
