Interview with Fleming and Hayes

Pundit Press is proud to present interview number 36 in our ongoing interview series. Today we're interviewing Shane Hayes and Angel Fleming, the editors of the site Fleming and Hayes. F&H is one of the better conservative sites out there, so please check them out and be sure to bookmark!

1. When and why did you start Fleming and Hayes?

November 5, 2009...We had traveled down to the Michele Bachmann 'Healthcare House Call' rally together and, while there, confronted Barney Frank on the issue (as Barney Frank is Angel's congressman *shiver*). Barney Frank grew flippant with Angel and ordered a Capitol Police officer to arrest her. We caught the scenario that unfolded with the police officer and, on the train ride home, 'Fleming and
Hayes' was born...

2. What is your favorite part about running the site?

Being huge supporters of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, we believe it is our duty to hold EVERYONE accountable despite party affiliation. We have a lot of fun catching stories, putting our two cents in, and stirring the pot. Being from Boston, a sarcastic sense of humor comes with the territory. We honestly spend a lot of time laughing as we write some of these pieces (and, sometimes, at the ridiculous content of the stories). We find that our perspective keeps this activist movement 'sharp'. We try to be thought-provoking and stick to the principles of the Founding Fathers to see how many react, creating our own little "Battlefield of Ideas."

As the old adage goes: "Do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life."

3. What do you think of the current GOP presidential field?

*Cue the Circus theme* LOL
We're really hoping the Tea Party movement isn't hijacked by the Grand Ol' Party. There are many republicans we love, but not one more than the Constitution and the men and women who sacrificed their lives to produce it. If this movement produces nothing better than another McCain or Romney candidate, then America truly had an expiration date and shame on us for not heeding the warnings of our Founders. When
tyranny is coming at us like a tsunami, we shouldn't build a popsicle-stick wall and think it's a job well done.

And, while we think there are many great folks tossing their hats in the ring, we'd be remiss to not mention the pony we're backing, Herman Cain.

4. Are there any potential GOP candidates you would not support?

Ron Paul & Mitt Romney (we're from Massachusetts, TRUST US)

5. Has President Obama been better or worse than you expected?

He's been pretty much as horrible as we we expected and stayed the course, God help us all. You see we're from Massachusetts where MANY democrats are openly proud socialists. There were no rose-colored glasses from our perspective. We new how dangerous his agenda was, but in retrospect, must credit him for this patriotic uprising and the new-found thirst America has for the truth not only for her history
but for values and civics in general.

6. What is your favorite article you've ever written?

There are so many we could choose from as we've found ourselves in some truly ridiculous situations...However, our favorite article, was our undercover piece on the GOTV rally for Barney Frank where Michael Dukakis came out to rally the troops. It was so fun for us to dress like filthy hippies and see the lackluster event up close. It was in the heat of the Sean Bielat campaign and the public was primed for any and all stories. This story provided a hilarious narrative as it illustrated the stark contrast between the two campaigns. And, everyone got to dust off their old Dukakis jokes. Win-win. (note: we have since upgraded our site and moved everything over, so these old articles have fresh 'tweet' slates)

7. Anything else you'd like to add?

We at Fleming and Hayes have fallen into this niche and we've enjoyed every minute of it (well, except for Scott Brown being so disappointing and Barney Frank's reelection-from which we still haven't fully recovered). We can't express enough how important activism is. When we debated attending the rally down in DC that fateful day November 5, 2009, the deciding factor was when Angel asked Shane "What are you going to say to your grandkids when they ask you where you were when the republic fell?" Our point is, information and action are important, in that order.
