Osama bin Laden has been the leader of al Qaeda since its founding in the early 1990s. Despite all of the terrible things that the organization has done, he has remained in charge, at least on paper.
What is less clear is his involvement in every-day, operational functions of the group. Apparently he had many computers and hard drives with him, suggesting at least
knowledge of the groups plans, but it is unclear if he actually directed or took part in them.
We've already uncovered evidence of a potential train plot in the US later this year and bin Laden is most certainly dead. So the question to you is-- what type of blow is this to the Islamist group?
