President Obama did something reasonable and accurate this morning: he called for strongman/tyrant Bashar al-Assad to step down as President of Syria and for democracy to be instituted in the Middle Eastern nation.
I believed he should have taken these steps three months ago, but better late than never I suppose, especially since hundreds of more innocent's are dieing every week at the hands of this power hungry madman, and no-one was willing to cross Assad until we led the way.
Everyone is afraid of taking action opposing Assad because of his alliance with Iran, but we shouldn't be. He (Assad) might have Iran on his side, but every other country in the world (including mid-east power brokers, such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey) has not one ounce of sympathy for his murderous reign of terror.
As with Libya, I'm pleased the President has finally stepped up to the plate and stood against an avowed foe of not only our country, but of liberty, even though he should have taken such action in the beginning, and not towards the end.
What say you?
