Another one bites the dust!
NATO and Afghanistan forces took down Sabar Lal Melma, who was a key Al-Qaida affiliate, and former Gitmo resident, last night at his Jalalabad home. They surrounded his compound and shot him dead when he emerged holding an AK-47.
Melma had been one of Al-Qaida's crucial operatives in Eastern Afghanistan, and his death expands our recent string of tactical success deeper into the heart of the terrorist organization.
Afghanistan, NATO and U.S. forces deserve credit for pushing the terror network closer to defeat than ever.
What say you?
P.S. - This man was in Gitmo for nearly five years - why was he released in 2007?
