Herman Cain was the clear winner in Thursday night's debate and now he's the undeniable victor of Florida's Presidency 5 straw poll with 37% of 2,657 Republican ballots cast going to his surging underdog campaign. No one else finished within 18% of the former Kansas City Federal Reserve Chairman.
1. Herman Cain - 37%.
2. Rick Perry - 15%.
3. Mitt Romney - 14%.
4. Rick Santorum - 11%.
5. Ron Paul - 10%.
6. Newt Gingrich - 8%.
7. Jon Huntsman - 2%.
8. Michele Bachmann - 1%.
Rick Perry's disappointing second-place finish will raise red flags, but what about Michele Bachmann's last-place finish just one month after winning the Iowa straw poll in Ames? There will be consequences to these results.
What say you?
Good for Cain
ReplyDeleteI'd gladly vote for him!
ReplyDeleteHe is my man, and has been for some time. Of course he is the dark horse, but there remains something about his candidacy that cause people to take a second look. This is hopefully the continuation of a trend, as he has done well in straw polls in the past, and we will see his name mentioned when pundits are speaking of top tier candidates.
ReplyDeleteCain/Bolton 2012
This does not discount my interest in Gingrich as a serious VP candidate....among others.
