The first 2012 Republican Presidential debate with Rick Perry, and without Tim Pawlenty, will be held tonight in Simi Valley, California, at the Reagan Library. All eyes are on the new frontrunner, Perry, and whether his opponents can exploit his known debate weakness.
We will also hear 1,000 references to former President Ronald Reagan from all the candidates on stage, even Ron Paul, who left the Republican Party in 1987 because of the aforementioned President's foreign policies of intervention and strength against America's enemies.
I hope the candidates remember Mr. Reagan's "Eleventh Commandment" through-out the debate, and his one-time party registration as a Democrat. They should focus on the issues at play and not cheap political shots against their own, which will be hard for some, but I think most will be able to contain their passions.
Overall, I'm hoping someone can sway me to their candidacy tonight and that they have a good debate.
What say you?
