Video- Obama: "A Billionaire" Should Pay as much in Taxes as "A Jew... uh, Janitor"

This is decidedly a WTF moment that I'm struggling to understand.  Here's the video (the gaffe starts at 30 seconds in):


Here's a quick excerpt:

President Obama- That's bad crazy. When you start [stops, stares at teleprompter] saying, 'At a time when the top one tenth of one percent has seen their income go up four, five times over the last twenty years and folks at the bottom have seen their incomes decline. And your response is you want poor folks to pay more?!'

Give me a break! If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as a Jew...uh, as a janitor makes me a warrior for the working class, I wear that with a badge of honor.

Yeah... The only similarity the words "Jew" and "janitor" have in common is the first letter. That's like confusing "Arab" and "apples." This is a very odd mix up, assuming that it is one.
