At the National Italian American Foundation gala, Ms. Pelosi introduced Mr. Obama, who bluntly stated, "I am biased, but I think Nancy was one of the best Speakers of the House this country ever had."
Not realizing the tremendous disapproval that met Ms. Pelosi during her terms and the massive economic catastrophe that she oversaw, Mr. Obama pushed forward. "She was no doubt the best Italian American Speaker of the House we ever had," he continued.
Ms. Pelosi was indeed the first and only Italian-American Speaker of the House, so technically Mr. Obama is correct. He finished off his heavy praising of Ms. Pelosi by saying, "I believe that she will be the best Speaker of the House again in 2013."
