North Carolina Affirms Traditional Marriage

With 93% of counties reporting, North Carolina has become the 30th state to ban same-sex marriage and to protect the traditional definition as between one man and one woman.

Over 60% of voters supported the constitutional amendment, which polling outfits predicted would receive around 55% support over the weekend, that legendary evangelist Billy Graham came out and supported in a call to protect the bedrock of our moral foundation.

This news should come as no surprise to casual observers, as religion plays a very important role in North Carolina's culture, but news outlets have been quick to point out that now all the former states once belonging to the confederacy have banned same-sex marriage in one form or another, which is highly irrelevant.

In other North Carolina electoral news, over 20% of Democrats voted "no preference" rather then for President Obama in the primary, which follows West Virginian Democrats awarding 40% to a man in jail for threatening a university in New Mexico.

What say you?
