Hurricane Sandy Could Threaten North East

Yes, you read that correctly.

According to forecast models of Hurricane Sandy, which just slammed into Jamaica and is heading towards Cuba, the storm is projected to tease the eastern seaboard over the next five days, potentially hitting, or just missing the north east and possibly forming into a "perfect storm" like scenario for a prolonged noreaster.

For someone who watched in horror as his friends were flooded out and nearly destroyed in Tropical Storm Irene last September in Upstate, New York, my nerves are rattled by the potential for another catastrophic storm heading in our direction from the sea. Three feet of snow doesn't faze me... Hurricanes do.

And if Sandy takes the westernmost path in the projection (pictured above) it would eerily follow, almost exactly, the path of Irene... Dear Lord, let this dreadful storm die in sea as soon as possible and keep it away from any land.
