Turkey and Syria Exchange Fire Once Again

If al-Assad's regime had any commonsense, they would immediately cease and desist from firing any mortars towards the Turkish border, as it is very doubtful they would survive for long if Turkey's top notch forces got into the fray, however, it appears they will continue to poke their highly agitated neighbor in the side.

Once again this morning, a Syrian mortar crossed the tense border and slammed into Turkish soil, alarming residents of Guvecci and prompting the military to launch artillery strikes into Syria for the fourth consecutive day since Wednesday's incident, which resulted in the deaths of five citizens - two women and three children.

Turkey has since sought and received a "strongly worded" condemnation by the U.N. Security Council, the legal right to engage Syria if necessary by the Meclis and NATO's justification of their actions. But the Prime Minister has shown amazing constraint in the face of several territorial breaches by al-Assad's brutal military, although I doubt he will tolerate much more.

It might be just me, but it appears the brutal regime of Bashar al-Assad is near their tipping point, as rebel forces continue to strike unrelentingly and effectively at his military's infrastructure and the Turkish threat is looming overhead as his forces idiotically provoke them on a near daily basis now. They are barely saving their own skin against the less equipped rebel forces, can they really believe the second largest military in NATO will be any easier?

What say you?
