The world was set ablaze by the news 25,000 citizens have signed a petition for the White House to construct the "death star" and according to the rules of the petition website, the government has to issue an official response to the absurd proposal.
However, I feel compelled to ask, why don't we build the death star? On a much smaller scale, of course, but still...
Imagine the power a nation would have if they controlled a super weapon that orbited the Earth and had the capability to eliminate entire country's with a destructive payload unimaginable by even today's standards of 21st century warfare.
Sure, the cost would be astronomical, but we would essentially wipe out any and all unemployment not just in the United States, but across the western world, with the manual labor needed to build the monstrosity, and after that - the tens of thousands of citizens needed to operate the death star on a day to day basis.
And it would essentially bring the world to America's knees... As anyone willing to screw with us would have to deal with the full power of advanced western technology and weaponry, and our complete and utter disregard of any international treaties that might prohibit us... Because, please, really? You're going to screw with this...
Just don't fly any X-Wings into our trenches... Please |
