The Obama Administration is pushing universal background checks in their latest push for gun reform. The problem is, according to the Vice President himself, the United States is unable to process the lies people make on their checks today, let alone if everyone has to be processed.

“And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately.”So let me get this straight: one of the ways that the Administration is pushing for more "safety" is by having more background checks. One way that the President is suggesting that we enhance this process is by having Form 4473s filled out. Yet, at the same time, the VP has promised that the United States can't even handle the current load today, let alone if this legislation is enacted.
As with most of this Administration's plans, this is half thought-out and makes even less sense.
