Senate Confirms Brennan CIA Nomination 63-34
The United States Senate voted today to confirm John Brennan as the nation's top intelligence chief on a 63-34 vote that marked the end of one of Washington's more interesting political stories the past couple of days, as the confirmation faced delays over lingering questions concerning Benghazi and an thirteen hour filibuster on the Senate floor by Rand Paul and others to voice concerns about the administration's drone program.
Both sides of the vote were bipartisan, as thirteen Republicans supported the Brennan nomination (Marco Rubio, who joined Paul during his filibuster yesterday, among them), and three Democrats were opposed, including both Vermont Senators and Ed Merkley of Oregon.
In the end, although I appreciate the Paul filibuster and respect the convictions that led to do it, I have no problems with the confirmation of John Brennan to lead the CIA. His years of experience within the CIA, expertise with drone strikes on enemy combatants overseas and his professional nature make him a damn decent choice to lead our intelligence apparatus.
What say you?

Noone that won't respond to questions regarding the 1st & 2nd amendments should have any position of regard in our military or political apparatus. If someone doesn't believe in those basic & inalienable rights then they should have no position in our government of the people.
