On CNN, Peter Bergen stated that the terrorist bombings in Boston was "likely right-wing" extremists.
Here's the quote: "One of the things that I'd be looking at, once the device, if it is a device, is found, what kind of explosives were used. If it, for instance, if it was hydrogen peroxide, sort of a signature of al Qaeda. If it was more conventional explosives, which are much harder to get hold of now, it might be some other kind of right wing extremists...
"We've also seen other extremist groups, right wing groups, attacking, for instance, trying to attack the Martin Luther King parade."
Here's the video:
Elsewhere, conspiracy theorists were happy to pin the explosions on conservatives:
Boston (place of Tea Party) on Tax Day (April 15th) bombed by "Right wing extremist" #EndTheFed "Conspiracy Theorist" helped by the FBI?

And:
Boston bombing on tax returns day, nutjob tea party type element makes most sense. NK must b pissed that their war threat has been forgotten

Update 2: Bergen repeated his claim again about 30 minutes later on CNN.

Right!. Lets see video of that. Liar!!
ReplyDeleteThe video is right there. You must feel like a fucking retard
DeleteOnly a true moron would say it must be right wing extremist...obviously a stupid and clueless statement. If you knew anything about right wing extremist, you would know that they value life above all. Hence, the dislike of abortion. If you actually had a brain, and knew anything about American History or even had a clue as to how to do research you would be dangerous. No wonder CNN's ratings are in the toilet. They employ idiots and then allow them to speak publicly.
ReplyDeleteThe same ones that bomb women's health shelters that also offer abortion services? They value life above all?
DeletePolice are reporting that they have a suspect, a Saudi national, in custody. And we know what a hotbed of NRA, and Tea Party activism is in Saudi Arabia. NOT!
ReplyDeleteNotice that the analyst didn't say it was definitely right wing. He said that the type of explosive might indicate who it was. Notice that he was referring to extremists, not the average, peaceful, law-abiding conservative. There is reason to believe that it could be domestic terrorism. Do you remember the Oklahoma City bombing? If you weren't alive then, were you paying attention in history class?
ReplyDeleteNote the word "likely"
DeleteI almost went on a rant, then saw the video. Bergen does -not- single out right-wingers in his comments at all. This headline is misleading.
ReplyDeleteI thought "analyst" was suppose to represent someone who views a situation with logic , reason and analytical detachment. Obviously the wrong job for Bergen as his comments are so unfounded in logic or fact they are rediculous. I am amazed a news outlet would employ such an individual.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahahahaha your such an idiot talking on here. Your probably connected to the bombing and now your going to get caught. Dude, you right wingers are gay as hell and do terrorist shit and think everyone should think like you but what you don't realize is there's an outside to that box your in. Have fun in hell -A
