The suspected Boston Marathon bombers were headed to New York City to “party” after the attack, the city’s police commissioner said Wednesday.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev — the 19-year-old suspect charged in connection with last week’s deadly bombings with his 26-year-old brother Tamerlan — told investigators of the brothers’ plans from his hospital bed.
“The information that we received said something about partying or having a party,” New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Dzhokhar told investigators, according to the New York Post. “The bit of information we have, they may have been words to the effect of coming to party in New York.”
Kelly added: “There was some information that they may have been intent on coming to new York, but not to continue what they were doing.”
