Rarely do you get to see into the mind of a suspected killer, especially on the day that he kills.
But thanks to Twitter, now we do.
@J_tsar appears to be the Twitter handle of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Marathon bombing suspect still at large. Instead of a picture, there is the head of a lion. I found this account by talking to a former high school classmate of his. If you scroll through his followers, most are teenagers expressing disbelief and even loyalty to him. One declares “they refer to him as a terrorist. I can’t deal.”
Some of Tsarnaev’s tweets are normal teenager tweets. Four days before the marathon, he retweeted what appears to be lyrics from a 50 Cent song “Autta Control.” We aint come here to start no drama. We just loking for our future baby mamas.”
Then, on Marathon Monday, after the blasts, at 7:04 p.m., he tweeted: “Ain’t no love in the heart of the city, stay safe people.”
At 10:13 p.m. the day of the blast: LOL Those people are cooked.
