On Wednesday, former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) announced his second campaign for the White House. Santorum made the announcement from his hometown of Butler, PA.
“Working families don’t need another president tied to big government or big money. Today is the day we begin to fight back.
“Four years ago, no one gave us much of a chance, but we won 11 states and 4 million votes. Not because I stood for something but because I stood for someone, the American worker," Santorum said.
Santorum criticized Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during his announcement.
“There priority is profit and power. My priority is you, the American worker," Santorum said.
The former Senator also noted it was time to do away with Common Core.
“The first step is to join me and drive a stake through the heart of Common Core,” Santorum said.
Speaking about national defense, Santorum said, "if I am the next president, we will defeat,” the Islamic State.
