Congressman Chris Lee has resigned from the House of Representatives.

Rep. Christopher Lee resigned Wednesday after a report claimed the married Republican congressman sent a shirtless photo (yuk) of himself to a woman on Craigslist.

Governor Andrew Cuomo will have to call a special election into order. There is little doubt that the Republican Party will be able to hold onto this seat, unlike what occurred when McHugh was appointed Secretary of the Army in 2009 and the local Republican vote was split between Hoffman and Scozzafava.

Just what the Republican Party needed one month into the 112th Congress, and one month into John Boehner's term as Speaker of the House. The good thing is that Lee resigned quickly, thus ending the controversy without political rancor.
