So It Begins - New Haven, CT Requesting Permission to Allow Non-Citizens to Vote

Yes, you read that correctly.  New Haven, CT mayor John DeStefano-D (Shocker, he is a democrat) has put in a petition into state authorities requesting that everyone be allowed to vote in local elections.  You don't even need to be in the country legally.
DeStefano, a Democrat, said illegal immigrants pay taxes indirectly through rent and send their kids to New Haven schools and should be able to vote.
The estimate of the illegal population in New Haven is said to be about 10,000 to 12,000.  New Haven is what one would call a sanctuary city.  They gave all residents a municipal ID card to so everyone would have access to city services such as the library and also have the ability to open a bank account.  So, I suppose this is the next logical step.

It is said that Gov. Malloy is willing to listen to the mayor, but doesn't seem to willing to approve it.

The Democratic governor said he believes there are obligations and privileges that come with legal citizenship, but he's willing to "hear the mayor out" on his proposal.
