In what can only be described as one of the worst analogies in CNN history, Alex Castellanos compared Barack Obama's State of the Union speech to sex.
Speaking to Anderson Cooper alongside other political commentators such as Newt Gingrich, Castellanos decided to make a candid statement about how he saw the President's SOTU, as well as an over-arching statement about Mr. Obama's oratory skill.
"I think I said before," Castellanos began, "I think a speech by Barack Obama is a lot like sex: the worst there ever was is still excellent!"
The look on Newt Gingrich's face more or less sums up what most people were thinking when they heard the statement from Castellanos:
Naturally, my first question is why even equate Barack Obama's use of language to intercourse? Why not, say, pizza? Or egg rolls?
Second, are Barack Obama's speeches that great? Really? That someone on CNN has to compare it to organisms? Then again, over on another network, thrills have been known to go up legs when Mr. Obama speaks.
